Big beers, Belgians...and a festival you should know about!

We recently connected with Krissten over at HerHops.com because we follow her on Instagram and think she's a pretty cool craft beer girl. (Seriously - go check her out)

We visited her site too and we were suprised to learn about a festival she recently attended. The Big Beers, Belgians, and Barleywines festival is apparently a THING and we think it's time we shared what Krissten let out of the bag in case you are dreaming of some craft beer inspired travel over the next year.

"I’ve mapped out the pros and cons of writing this post. Do I really want to let the cat out of the bag? Well, here goes nothing.

My dad is huge into craft beer, which most of you know. He lives in Denver and has been telling me for a few years now that the Big Beers, Belgians, and Barleywines festival is the best festival he’s ever been to. This festival is a little different than the beer festivals you’re used to. This festival is actually geared towards brewers. Throughout the weekend they hold amazing educational sessions for brewers to attend. So what does that mean? It means they all bring the best of the best beer to the festival to impress all their brewery friends. Beer you’ve never heard of. Have you ever tried the Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Smoked Porter from Blue Moon? I have! And it’s amazing! Not only did Casey bring out all the goodies with Leaner, Jammy, Supreme Clientele for tasting, but Troy, his wife, and their new baby were walking around during the festival which was fun to see. Sam Adams was pouring Utopias along with their Triple Bock from 1995. A beer from 1995 was being poured! This is just a small sample of the amazing beers offered at this festival.

Wonder if next year she'll be bringing her shiny new Craft'r for all those samples?
